Our Mission
Statement of Mission
The primary goal at Sandy Lake Academy is to provide an atmosphere in which staff and students can explore creation and the Creator through mental, physical, spiritual and social activity. We strive to provide a Christ centered curriculum and program of activities which will reveal to our student the knowledge and wisdom they need for success.
Our school atmosphere must be safe and secure for all. As a school family it is our goal, through our love for one another, create an environment that represents the love of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. In this environment and through the education contained within, it is our aim to have the students obtain a firm grasp of the knowledge and wisdom that they need to serve in this life and to obtain the life that is to come

Implementation of Mission
Students, staff, parents and local church members work together to help insure Sandy Lake Academy achieves its mission by:
-
-Building and sharing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and asking him to be present in our lives and our school.
-
-Developing strong interpersonal relationships by respecting the individual members of our family and the school as a whole.
-
-Taking full advantage of the educational opportunities and school activities to enable our personal growth toward excellence.
-
-Working together as a school family so that the uniqueness of each individual will contribute to the success of the family as a whole.
-
-Taking responsibility for your own actions and attitudes and being willing to suppress self-centered desires for the good of the school family as a whole.
Philosophy
As a Christian school we strive to provide an environment and education which will represent our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the ideals that he personified in his life and teachings. High standards are important to us as we believe that "whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Cor. 10:31 Therefore we expect our staff and students to work together to bring glory to God through our school.
Seventh-day Adventist educators have always believed that our job is to educate the whole child, not just pass on curricular knowledge. "True education means more than the perusal of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that is now. It has to do with the whole being ... it is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and the higher joy of wider service in the world to come." (E.G. White) Christian education has a transforming power which, when utilized in cooperation with the home, can enable a child to model their lives after that of Jesus and accept his gift of eternal life.
The concept of Christian education is based on the belief that all wisdom and knowledge come from God. "Since God is the source of all true knowledge, it is ... the first object of education to direct our minds to His own revelation of Himself."
